I am 40 weeks pregnant and I am haveing a stress test what happens after the non stress test do they deliver?

What happens after the non stress test has anyone had one and do they deliver the baby after?

i had one at 39 weeks and it was just to check babies heartbeat to make sure she was fine after i met the requirements i could go home which was disapointing as i was hoping they would say they would induce me then instead i had to go 2 weeks over before being induced
If the stress test is fine usually nothing happens.
They just do the stress test to make sure everythings fine with baby and you can continue on waiting to go into labour.
Just let your body do its natural course if possible. Unless the Docs tell you that you HAVE to be induced try to avoid it. 50% of inductions end in a c-section.

They are doig the NST to see how the baby is holding up in your uterus. If the baby seems fine – they won’t do anything, just send you home.
I haven’t ever had one, but friends of mine have. They monitor you and see how the baby is doing, check your blood pressure and important things that could put you or the baby in danger if they don’t get started with labor soon. If everything is fine, and you are not dilating or going in to labor (which is why you are having the test in the first place) you will go home and be on your merry way to wait and wait and wait until that little baby is ready, good and ready to come out and see the world.
They do the test to make sure everything is ok with the baby. The doctor will probably just decide whether or not you should be induced. After 40 weeks, some women tend to get low amniotic fluid, which isn’t good. However, they are probably checking to see if you are having contractions and trying to get an idea of how best to help you go into labor.
Well…it depends on what they are doing the test for? Is your baby moving ok? How is your blood pressure? These are all factors in why they even do the test. If your fluid around the baby is low, or if the baby is showing signs of distress they might want to consider induction or even c section. However if everything looks fine and they baby is great and you are willing to keep going they will send you home. By 40 weeks though they might start to consider induction. I would if I were you. Letting a baby cook for 40 weeks is plenty of time and it might be time to come out and play. Good luck and don’t worry, you doc should take good care of you!

the non stress test they usually give to woman who are over due or have complications… all it does its monitors the baby’s heart beat for 15 minutes to make sure there is no drastic change… if there is it means the baby is stressed and they usually bring you into the hospital to deliver the baby to avoid complication to the baby’s health
Not unless there is something wrong. I had preeclampsia from 30 weeks until I delivered my daughter. My blood pressure was always high so I had to go in twice a week to make sure it wasnt negatively affecting my baby. It no big deal and its kind of fun at first. All you do is lay down and they put 2 elastic belts around your tummy. One of the belts listens to the baby’s heartbeat and the other belt tells if your having any contractions and how severe they are. Its completely painless, all you do is lay there. It takes about 20 minutes on a good day but could last up to an hour. The just have to see the baby with a resting heartbeat and then a "playing" heart beat to make sure she is resting the way she should be, and to make sure she is moving around and "playing" like she should be also. Sometimes if the baby is sleeping, she will have a resting heart rate for a little longer so thats why sometimes the nst’s take longer than 20 minutes. If the baby is resting too long, they will come in and play with your belly a little bit to get the baby to wake up and play. IF your baby’s heart rate stays low and never gets higher, or if its high and never gets lower, then thats when they start to do other things to make sure the baby isnt stressed. It seems like I had about 100 of these, lol. They never had to deliver bc of one though, I ended up having a c section at 37 weeks bc my blood pressure was starting to be uncontrollable.
